Endocrinology
Endocrinology is a specialty of Internal Medicine that deals with disorders of hormones, which are substances produced by different glands in the body. The health problems that fall under this specialty include Diabetes Mellitus, cholesterol disorders, thyroid disease, calcium problems, osteoporosis, kidney stones, and diseases of the adrenal gland, pituitary gland, and parathyroid gland.
Many of our patients have diabetes, and we address many aspects of diabetes care. This includes intensive diabetes control with insulin and / or oral medications, insulin pumps, and diabetic pregnancies. We also have a certified Diabetes Nurse Practitioner working with us to assist in achieving optimal care of our diabetic patients. |
