Your doctor now depends upon a new service to help advise you during after hours. The Pediatric Advice Line is staffed by experienced Registered Nurses at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. They can provide assistance when you have questions about your child's health.
Questions regarding routine appointments and prescription refills will be handled only during regular office hours.
How do you use the PAL call center?
- When you call your pediatrician's office after-hours, simply tell the answering service operator you have a health question about your child and would like to speal with a nurse.
- Your message will be given to a Registered Nurse at the Pediatric Advice Line, who will return your call promptly. The nurse will discuss your concerns and will provide health care advice.
- If your call requires immediate attention by the doctor, the nurse will consult the pediatrician who is on call for your child.
Whenever you contact the Pediatric Advice Line, your doctor receives a report of your call on the next day so that he or she can follow up with you as necessary. |
